Do you need a license to fly a drone?

Completing the BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) training organized by UASA in Pruszcz Gdański, near the Tri-City and passing the state examination, is a necessary condition for flying drone out of sight of the operator and observer for commercial purposes. It includes a series of lectures and practical training, after which you will not only be ready to take the state exam for this entitlement but also conduct your aviation activity. After completing the training and passing the exam, the participant receives a Drone Operator Qualification Certificate – commonly known as a drone license.

Why choose BVLOS training?

Completing the training allows for legal long range flights. In the case of VLOS training, the pilot / operator is limited by the distance at which the drone can fly.
Usually this distance is 150-500 meters. Flying out of sight therefore allows you to perform more advanced operations.
Due to changes in law, operations without visual visibility are becoming easier and, as a result, the development of the industry is heading towards BVLOS flights.

You must add to the price of the training:


• 214 PLN state exam fee after completing the training, paid to Civil Aviation Office.
• 200-500 PLN for conducting aviation and medical examinations before starting practical training. The amount varies depending on the choice of aviation medical examiner who will conduct the tests for you.
• 244-800 PLN for civil liability insurance, which is required by law from drone operators/pilots. The amount depends on the sum insured (20,000 PLN – 200,000 PLN)
